Pin it up! Tuck it in! That’s it!
No, the life of a Hijabi girl is not that easy!
Headscarf or abayas, Hijab is no alien term for anyone. Travel to any part of the globe and you’re bound to meet at least one Hijabi out of ten. And like everything else under the sun, covering yourself too has certain features.
From styling to matching scarves with the most appropriate outfits, Hijabi girls too have their own share of issues (quite unlike what the world thinks)-both good and bad. If you too are a Hijabi girl, who loves everything about scarves and abayas, this article will definitely please you. If you aren’t, no worries, you can still know about some of these confessions.

Without much ado, let’s get started.
1. Pinning up and tucking is not that easy!
Yes, Hijab in several cases means wrapping up scarves and tucking them in. But, ta-dah, it’s not that easy! Executing that perfect Hijab style comprises of at least million wraps, with two million pintucks and watching at least zillion YouTube Hijab videos.
And yet we go for our usual style! Because it’s better to go with the one that we know instead of making ourselves look like clowns. LOOOOOOOL!
2. We shampoo and condition our hair
Yes, we cover our heads! Yes, we make sure not to even show a single strand of hair. But, that NEVER means that we don’t care about it. Like other girls, we also shampoo your hair and condition them. Because who doesn’t love her tresses!
3. We are NOT oppressed!
We just aren’t! Just because we choose to cover ourselves doesn’t mean we have been forced to it. There are millions around the world who actually love to wear Hijab and choosing it is their completely own decision.
4. Hijab comes in variations
Like every other outfit, hijab too comes in several variations. From scarves to abayas. Hijabis too can choose from a vast palette.
5. We DON’T wear it all time
Just because the world sees our heads covered doesn’t necessarily mean we also sleep in them. We, Hijabi girls, just wear them when we step out of homes, not in our beds or in our kitchens! No, just NO! We sleep like everyone does! Phew!
6. We too have nothing to wear! LOL!
Just like the other women, we too own at least a trillion scarves yet end up wearing those usual 3-5 scarves. Which eventually means, for most of the times, “I have nothing to wear.”
7. We also LOVE makeup
Which woman doesn’t love it! Quite like the other women, we too love being downright stylish and of course, stay updated with the latest make-up trends. However, unlike other women, we focus more on eye-makeup. Well, because, hell yeah, that’s the only part all the Hijabi girls can flaunt!
8. Winters are warmer!
Weeee! Being a Hijabi girl provides a unique advantage which is staying warmer in winters.
9. And summers are devastating!
Boo hoo! If winters are blessings summers are horrifying! Melting under those layers makes us often question our very own choices.
10. Voluminous hair is next to nothing!
Aah, the sacrifices! Doesn’t matter if we have silky hair or a freshly blow-dried hair, wearing Hijab makes it all the same!
11. Losing pins is our horror
Bobby pins, safety-pins or just ball-pins! Losing any of them is not as cute as losing a sock to Santa!
Stereotypical and stupid questions! Like why do they even exist!
13. Hugs can be painful
Sometimes hugs can be our worst enemy, especially when those pins tuck you back tightly!
14. No, they aren’t umbrellas!
Yes, they cover our heads, protect our hair from sun, dust and pollution! But, people, no they aren’t umbrellas! Just like others we too get wet when it rains!
15. Hijab is pride!
But, above all, in spite of its challenges and stereotypes associated with it, as a Hijabi girl, my choice is always my pride! It helps me shine from within!
